CTS DRIVER PAUL MASTALIR COMPETES NATIONALLY

On June 2-3, 2017, the Wisconsin Truck Driving Championships were held in Pewaukee, WI. Truck Driving Championships Competition is a constructive program emphasizing skill, knowledge, professionalism and safe handling of motor vehicles. Since it its inception in 1937, the TDC has served the trucking industry by spotlighting the unique skill of the professional truck driver. The TDC is designed to select all-around champions who are more than just good drivers.

CTS had great representation in June, with four drivers competing in the 5-Axle Van Division; Jamie Gavin, Charles Cappelle, Paul Mastalir, and Brad Johnson.  Drivers were tested in the classroom with a written portion as well as behind the wheel on the course. Not only did our drivers compete, but our CTS fire and police wrapped trucks were made useful for the on-course testing.

Paul Mastalir finished the weekend by taking 1st place in the 5-Axle Van Division, while Brad Johnson took 3rd place in the same division. Paul’s first place finish earned him a trip to Orlando, FL from August 9-12, 2017 to compete in the National Truck Driving Championships. While there, he did not make it into the final round, but he thoroughly enjoyed himself and took great pleasure being in the company of many skilled drivers.
