LOAD PLANNER

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: 

  • Manages designated customer accounts and their revenue base while coordinating traffic flows, freight allocations, quoting of rates and delivery/pick-up schedules 
  • Controls the preplanning of units of each customer order in dispatch to ensure profitability, maximizes equipment utilization and ensures customer shipment expectations 
  • Reviews and analyzes operating reports, taking corrective action as required to reposition load allocation 
  • Generates and communicates rates, timing of shipments and receipt requirements to keep customers informed
  • Coordinates with Customer Service Reps to resolve traffic flow imbalances to fill empty miles
  • Manages Trailer pools and inactive equipment within the planning region

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answer incoming telephone calls and evaluate/direct calls to appropriate personnel
  • Obey all company safety, regulatory and compliance policies
  • Must work well in a team environment

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED/HSED with a minimum of one year transportation experience
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations
