CTS BIKE GIVEAWAY FOR AREA YOUTH IN NEED

December 12, 2016- Contract Transport Services (CTS), LLC, a trucking company headquartered in Green Bay, Wisconsin, has spent the past month hosting a bike drive. Brand new bicycles of all sizes and colors have been donated by CTS employees and the count has eclipsed over 80 bikes. “We at CTS always take this time of year to reflect just how lucky we are.  As part of that and our charitable mission of taking care of kids, we started the bike drive last year,” says CTS President, Curt Reitz. “It’s a great way for our employees to continue to show they are the best in the transportation industry from a professionalism standpoint, as well as they are great members of their respective communities.”

Now that all the bikes have been donated, they sit lined up in a freshly wrapped Stoughton military trailer, ready to be chosen by a local boy or girl. CTS is partnering with American Foundation of Counseling Services (AFCS) and the Brown County PALS Program on Sunday, December 18th at 10am, at Notre Dame High School, where these kids in need will get to choose their new wheels.  Photo/Video and interview opportunities will be available at the event.

Members of the Notre Dame Tritons Futures basketball program will also be present, many with a bike to donate, and will assist in the giveaway.

AFCS has a foster care program that serves children placed in care in Northeast Wisconsin who are in need of intensive care and nurturing away from their home. The program also offers comprehensive Independent Living Skills programming to ensure children are prepared when they turn 18 and leave foster care.

The Brown County PALS Program is a service of Brown County Human Services Department. The PALS Program matches children who are referred by Child Protective Services with an adult volunteer, couple, or family. The children on the PALS waiting list are ages 3 or older. There is a lengthy waiting list of boys and girls from families where there has been abuse, neglect, substance abuse, depression, or an absent parent due to death, incarceration, or abandonment issues.
