Transportation Intern

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Other duties may be assigned

  • Take orders from customers and confirm on time fulfillment
  • Coordinate pickup and delivery appointments to ensure timely customer deliveries
  • Build customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Monitor truck movements and internal/external conditions
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and evaluate/direct calls to appropriate personnel
  • Trailer/Equipment managing
  • Obey all company safety, regulatory and compliance policies
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A candidate in a Post-Secondary degree program in Business or Supply Chain Management

Systems Administrator

This position is responsible for overall system performance, application availability and business continuance along with End User support. The position focuses on Windows application technologies including, but not limited to, MS Server 2008/2012, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server 2008/2012, VM environments, etc.

Responsibilities will include varied project development and implementation as it relates to the transportation industry. This will be a supervised position with a high level of independence.

Experience in any or all of the following IT/technology functions are helpful: network/security administration, database administration, SQL 2008/2012 administration and project development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Other duties may be assigned

  • Troubleshoot network/server performance and connectivity issues
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and general support of systems and server environments
  • Assist in maintaining documentation (knowledge) for installing and troubleshooting issues in specified areas of responsibility
  • Rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • All aspects of systems administration (AD, EMail, Backups, Maintenance)
  • Assist IT management with administrative policies and procedures related to technical problem resolution and priority management that relates to system support and maintenance
  • Respond to telephone calls, email, and End User requests for technical support

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Technical aptitude and ability to research and solve simple to intermediate complexity issues
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work well independently
  • Willingness to work additional hours when necessary
  • Must be available after hours for support calls
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills required

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Certification(s) in area of specialty is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or in area of specialty is preferred
  • Design, develop, and maintain stored procedures and TSQL scripts/SSRS reporting
  • MCSA/MCSE or equivalent Microsoft Certification is a plus

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of experience working in a LAN/WAN environment along with Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012 recommended
  • 2+ years with enterprise applications such as: Microsoft SQL Server, SharePoint Server, Exchange, Active Directory, VM platforms recommended
  • 2+ years of database administration, transaction processing systems environment with MS SQL Server versions 2008/2012 preferred
  • Experience in the Transportation industry and TMW Suite/operations preferred
